Happy New Year!

This year has gone very fast for many of us but not fast enough for others. When the stock market declines 40% in one year, it not only devastates many investors but it is also symbolic of huge tremors in our nation’s economy. Some of you have lost your jobs this past year and others have been forced to change companies or you are now working for a totally different company than the one you were working for on January 1, of this year. Others of you may be starting to go back to work after you thought you were retired and others just hope something will come along to be able to allow you to work anywhere. One of the people who I met this past year wrote a book about such things. It’s a short little pamphlet book called, “Do You Need a Mulligan?” Wally Armstrong, a golf professional from Orlando, Fl and Ken Blanchard, a businessman, co-authored this piece and it is worthwhile to get a copy. You can visit them on their website at www.pocketpower.org and maybe you can get a “mulligan” on the year 2008.

Another tidbit from a friend in Cleveland, John Kasper, offers all of us a warning about a new virus that is incredibly dangerous. If you receive any email that has the words “Life Is Beautiful” DO NOT OPEN IT!!! All of these viruses are insidious but this one is more dangerous than most and should be deleted ASAP and then deleted from your deleted items!

Many of you send me great responses each week on the MMM’s and I love hearing from all of you. Sometimes it takes me until Wednesday or Thursday to answer them all and yet I love hearing from all of you, so keep the feedback coming even when you don’t always agree with things. A few days back, I received this prayer from one of my clients Dr. Rosso, in Ohio, who thought that Billy Graham had offered meaningful insights. You may have seen this before but it reminded me that staying close to our heavenly Father thru our prayer life is important:

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'
