Thank You, Merci, Maholo!
Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on our blessings! Whether we respond to our fellow earth mates in their native language or in our own, saying “Thanks” almost always brings a smile and approval. Acknowledging others and recognizing their gifts is a universal ingredient for success if you wish to influence others. This is also the time of year to turn those good thoughts of gratitude into action.
In my lifetime, I cannot remember a time where churches, ministries, and charities have experienced as great an economic need as exists in today’s world. This is not the fault of the people who are suffering and are in need. As you think on the blessings of the Lord in your life, think about at least three places where you know the work of the Lord is in need and you could make a year end contribution to make a difference. This will mean making a sacrifice that you did not intend to make but donors need to understand that they will need to give more than ever and to more ministries than ever before. These are the times to learn the value of sacrificial giving and find God’s teaching for each of us in each of those situations.
I must say Thanks to all of you who read the MMM each week and encourage me thru your prayers and suggestions. Here is the result of last week’s MMM asking about what happened to the book on how Christians should be a witness thru their investments: (35% OF READERS OF MMM REPLIED TO THE QUESTION ON KINGDOM GAINS)
- 3% (Publishers right, respondent would not buy a book on BRI)
- 60% (Publishers wrong, respondent would buy a book on BRI)
- 30% (Respondent would buy & read a book on BRI if useful & interesting)
- 7% (Respondent offered thoughts outside of A, B, or C)
All of your responses were great and very helpful to me in my taking this and the many issues surrounding the book to prayer for deciding God’s calling for me in the next steps to take. You made my day, Thanks!
I Thessalonians 5:16-19 (RSV) “Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.”
