Keeping Focus
With all the excitement of the sports scene with the World Cup Soccer;
US Open in golf, and the pennant races taking shape, it is easy to be
distracted from the ministry calling each of us are drawn to by God’s
grace. Add the family activities of kids’ sports and vacations
and we can be so consumed it is even hard to work in that Sunday or weekend
service to remember the Sabbath. Why is it so hard for us to keep or
focus on the work God wants us to do when our Lord never sways from his
presence nor does He ever leave us out there alone to face all the world
throws at us.
You have all known what it is like to have a new client or prospect
come in to meet with you and as you present a plan
for their investments and their general planning needs, it is not uncommon
for people to think about whether to go ahead with your proposal. Even
though they know what the right thing to do for their financial health,
many times they either procrastinate or choose not to go along. Isn’t this like the decision
to accept Christ as their personal Savior? When your prospect becomes
a client and accepts your proposal, they become a client… not
dissimilar to the doubter who becomes a believer when they accept the
plan of salvation.
Think about what a great God we serve this week even
as you make a presentation that has less than eternal
rewards and compare that to God’s eternal plan for all who believe!
