LOVE
LETTERS TO CLIENTS & LOVE LETTERS IN THE SAND!
It was just a few days ago
that the National Association of Christian Financial
Consultants (NACFC) held their annual meeting in
Orlando, Fl. One of our featured
guests was Pat Boone, and as he sang some of his
million record hits from the 50’s and 60’s,
I realized that half the room was singing along while
the younger half of the room was saying what kind
of music is this? It had words you could hear
and pronounce there was a melody; and there was our
hero from the fifties with white shoes and a pink
sports jacket making the years disappear.
The conference was also highlighted
by music from internationally acclaimed violinist
Maurice Sklar and Floridian singer Debbie Hart who
inspired everyone with their talents. But it was not all fun and
games. Several financial advisors from the NACFC
have been realigning their practices with the guidelines
from a program called “Biblical Entrepreneurship”. What
a delight to hear from all of the people who wish to
bring their practice into a place where they plan from
day one to be in conformation with Biblical principles.
This also resounded with a sense of love for their
clients.
Despite some tragedies that
prevented some speakers from attending, those who
were able to be part of the 12th annual NACFC conference
left with a great feeling of moving closer to the
Lord in their walk and in their work. Even if you were not there, I would urge
all of my MMM readers to visit Pat Boone’s website
and see how the Lord is using him in incredible ways. He
is The Ambassador for Tourism for the country of Israel
and actively offers insights to that government on
the hopes and dreams of American travelers there. You
might even wish to go with Pat and his family on future
trips, including the Holy Land, and you can view information
about that atwww.patboone.com. I
would also highly recommend the DVD available on this
same site saluting our troops entitled, “For
My Country: The History of the National Guard”.
I believe God is calling all
of us to be on the ready for such a time as we are
living. The world’s
definitions for success and happiness in things and
glory fade faster than yesterday’s headlines. In
fact, notice how quickly even financial news seems
to get discounted before the end of the day and often
is forgotten a week later. I hope my pain from
the Cav’s season disappears as fast! Doesn’t
it make you wonder how a book like the Bible has survived
so long despite all the critics and attempts to debase
it? Maybe God did have something to do with that… and
God’s book has “love letters” that
will not be wiped out by every wave that breaks.
Matthew 20:32-34 (NIV) “Jesus stopped
and called them. ‘What do you want me to do
for you?’ ‘Lord’, they answered, ‘We
want our sight’. Jesus had compassion on them
and touched their eyes. Immediately they received
their sight and followed him.”
